A leading debt management company is reporting a rise in the numbers of its customers who cite loss of sleep as a direct result of debt anxiety as a major catalyst for contacting the company for help.

A third of workers are more likely to go into work ill because of the economic downturn, a survey reveals. The study of 1,600, found that 30 per cent of workers are now more inclined to go to work sick as a result of the current economic climate. Around half of those choosing to turn up for duty while sick said the most important factor in their decision was job security.

28% of family travel Insurance policies aren’t covering children who live with an ex

A report by independent financial research company Defaqto calls into question whether insurance policy definitions of ‘family’ are up to date. Parents are encouraged to check the detail of their travel insurance policies this summer to ensure they have adequate cover for their children.

Brian Brown of Defaqto explained how any travel insurers will insure your children and step-children as long as they live with you. However, if you take children on holiday with you and they normally live with an ex-partner they might not be covered. Insurers only consider them as family if they permanently live at your address.

There are 423 annual travel insurance policies available.

It is important that parents check the detail of their travel insurance policies to ensure that they have the cover they need before travelling. In particular, couples who are not married, or have children from a previous relationship need to make sure that children are covered when travelling with them.
