The Winnipeg Goldeyes looked dead in the water after seven innings on Monday night. But a three-run homer by Ray Sadler turned a potential Sioux City blowout into a home-opening thriller at Shaw Park. On a night when the 7-3 Goldeyes looked dead tired after a 10-game road trip through Texas and Nebraska, 7,155 fans watched a slow start turn into a heart-stopping ninth inning as the Fish fell 6-5 to the visiting Explorers. The Explorers scored early and often against Goldeyes starter Jason Jarvis. Samson drove home the first run of the game in the first inning with a solid single to right then Sioux City added two more in the second to take a 3-0 lead. The Goldeyes got one back in the bottom of the third as Casey Haerther doubled and scored on a double by Tyler Kuhn, but Sioux City scored two more in the fifth and one more in the sixth to take a 6-1 lead. With the Goldeyes scuffling, this one looked like it was in the books. But in the eighth, Ryan Pineda singled, Tyler Kuhn singled and with two out, Ray Sadler hit a fastball from Sioux City reliever Geoff Broussard well over the leftfield fence to cut the Explorers lead to 6-4. After Chris Kissock got the Explorers out in the ninth, the Goldeyes got a rally going in the bottom half of the inning.Reggie Abercrombie led off with an infield single, Donnie Webb walked and Casey Haerther bunted his way on base to load them up. Pineda then hit into a double play that drove home Abercrombie to make it 6-5. With two out and Webb on third, Luis Alen drilled a line shot up the middle that hit Explorers closer Chris Bodishbaugh on the leg. The ball deflected to Xs first baseman Luke Merton who grabbed it between second and first while Bodishbaugh went to field the ball himself. However, Bodishbaugh quickly changed direction, headed to cover first and beat Alen to the bag to record the final out. What appeared to be a game-tying base hit turned into a stunning final out and the Goldeyes suffered their fourth loss of the season. Sioux City starter Patrick Johnson (1-1, 2.19 ERA) got the win, while Jarvis (1-2, 10.39 ERA) suffered the loss. Bodishbaugh got the save, his first of the season. The Goldeyes and Explorers meet up in Game 2 of this three-game series on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Shaw Park. Kyle Anderson (1-0, 0.93 ERA) will start for the Goldeyes, while John Straka (1-0, 2.03 ERA) will take to the bump for Sioux City. Axel Witsel Jersey . Still, Inter moved one point ahead of Parma in the race for fifth place and the final Europa League spot. Udinese remained 14th, 11 points above the relegation zone. Inter was beaten 2-1 by Atalanta at home on Sunday and has won only seven of 16 matches at the San Siro this season, as the squad seems to still be searching for its identity under new owner Erick Thohir and first-year manager Walter Mazzarri. Matz Sels Jersey . The Blue Jackets got goals from Cam Atkinson, Nick Foligno, Boone Jenner and R.J. Umberger and Curtis McElhinney posted his first shutout since 2011 in a 4-0 victory on Friday night. http://www.belgiumsoccerauthority.com/dries-mertens-belgium-jersey/. The commissioners office said Friday that Sears tested positive for metabolites of Methandienone. Sears will be 23 in March. He signed with the Braves in June 2013 out of Arizona Christian, an NAIA school, and is on the roster of the rookie-level Gulf Coast League Braves. Thomas Meunier Jersey .com) - The Columbus Blue Jackets rewarded starting goaltender and pending restricted free agent Sergei Bobrovsky with a four-year contract extension on Friday. Jordan Lukaku Jersey . Toronto FC hosts the three-time Italian league champions in a friendly Aug. 7 at BMO Field, a game that Roma CEO Italo Zanzi said falls within a key part of their pre-season.MALABO, Equatorial Guinea - Both the Ivory Coast and Cameroon came into the day as big favourites at the African Cup of Nations, and both finished it happy just to avoid losing. The Ivorians got a late equalizer from Seydou Doumbia shortly after Gervinho was sent off with a straight red card to earn a 1-1 draw with Guinea on Tuesday at Malabo Stadium.A short time later at the same venue, it was Cameroon that needed a late goal from Ambroise Oyongo to hold on for a 1-1 draw against Mali.We bounced back. Its a good point for us, said Ivory Coast captain Yaya Toure, who recently won his fourth African player of the year award. We have a couple of games coming, and I hope we will do well in them. The draws leave all four teams in Group D with one point. On Saturday, Ivory Coast will take on Mali and Cameroon will face Guinea.Gervinho had been Ivory Coasts best player, or least the one with the best chances, until a scuffle with Baissama Sankoh during an off-the-ball incident earned him a straight red in the 57th minute. With 10 men it was very hard, said Ivory Coast coach Herve Renard, who led Zambia to the African Cup title in 2012. I think the players did very well in the different organization (after the sending off).Doumbia, who came on in the 66th as the tactics changed, scored from in front of goal in the 72nd after a pass from Wilfried Bony.dddddddddddd Toure was the one who started the play.Guinea had taken the lead in the 36th when Ibrahima Traore crossed to Mohamed Yattara.Traore then had a chance to double the lead in the 61st but his shot hit the crossbar. Were not happy, because we know we could win this game, Traore said. Were going to keep working hard. At the end we will win and we will qualify, because as I said we are not afraid of anyone. In the second match, Oyongo latched onto to a long pass from Raoul Loe in the 84th and beat Mali goalkeeper Soumaila Diakite in a fast-paced game that had several missed chances at both ends.Sambou Yatabare had given Mali a surprising lead in the 71st, controling the ball with his chest and scoring from a tight angle after a free kick on the other side of the field. The manner we played this match, especially the second half, it was the manner to win the game, Cameroon coach Volker Finke said. The goal of Mali was a matter of concentration. The players were not concentrated.Cameroon, which conceded only one goal in qualifying, had chances earlier in the game but lacked quality finishing. One of the more entertaining moments came in the 57th minute when Cameroon forward Edgar Salli bounced the ball several times on his head to evade defenders but was eventually brought down just outside the box.
